Hyundai\nMotor today unveiled its All-New Tucson compact SUV, a vehicle that will shift\nbrand perceptions through its bold and athletic design and extensive use of new\ntechnology throughout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New\nmodel follows SUV sales success <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Since the first Santa Fe went on sale in Europe in 2001, Hyundai Motor has delivered more than one million SUVs to European customers, affirming the company\u2019s credentials in the growing SUV market in Europe. The All-New Tucson will be of high importance to Hyundai\u2019s European business, as the CSUV segment accounted\nfor 22% of the company\u2019s sales in 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bold and athletic exterior creates unique SUV\nappearance <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The front of the All-New Tucson\nis dominated by the Hyundai signature hexagonal front grille, which connects\nwith the LED headlamps to create a distinctive identity. A wing-shaped\nhorizontal bar at the front bumper, which incorporates the LED daytime running\nlights, gives the car a unique style and provides a visual reference for the\ncar\u2019s wide track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By moving the A-pillar back it becomes visually disconnected\nfrom the long bonnet, accentuating the sleek profile. The directional shape of\nthe wheel arches contribute to the agile and dynamic appearance, even at stand\nstill. The expressive \u2018Z\u2019 character-line above the rear wheel arches creates a\nsculptural side profile and a powerful stance. The rear has a clean design with\nhorizontal lines that flow from the rear wheel arches and which are accented by\nslim tail lights.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The All-New Tucson will be available in Europe in a range\nof11 elegant exterior colours, comprising one solid (Polar White), seven\nmetallic (Ara Blue, Ash Blue, Micron Grey, Moon Rock, Thunder Grey, White Sand,\nUltimate Red) and three pearl colours (Ruby Wine, Phantom Black, Platinum\nSilver).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refined interior combines elegance with\nergonomics for a sensuous experience <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As well as introducing new soft-touch, high-quality materials across the cabin surfaces, the interior has undergone extensive ergonomic testing to ensure ease of use and a pleasant and sensuous experience. The modern simplicity of the centre console is underlined by its horizontal orientation, and there is added sophistication to the refined cabin ambience.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front seats feature long seat cushions and can be\nordered with powered adjustment, heating and ventilation. Heated rear seats\nwith reclining backrests will be available and new air-vents will bring extra\ncomfort to rear seats occupants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Europe, buyers will have a choice of three sophisticated\ninterior colours: Oceandis Black, Chai Beige and Red Wine. The Oceandis black\ninterior is available with cloth or high quality black leather upholstery. The\nelegant Chai Beige interior comes in a two-tone layout with the lower dashboard\nin beige matching the cloth or leather upholstery. Adding further elegance to\nthe interior is the exclusive Red Wine leather. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generous space from efficient packaging <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The All-New Tucson is built on a completely new platform\nthat endows this C-SUV with generous interior dimensions. Clever packaging\nmeans that there is an excellent exterior-to-interior dimension ratio,\noptimising the space that is provided for passengers and luggage. Comfortable\nand airy inside, the interior also delivers a substantial 513 litres of luggage\ncapacity with all seats upright. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Convenience and connectivity features are\ntailored to customer needs <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

New convenience features offered with the All-New Tucson\ninclude a smart powered tailgate which opens at the approach of the key-holder,\nkeyless-entry and engine start, an electric parking brake and a Smart Parking\nAssist System with parallel and bay parking functions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For excellent ergonomics, the\ncenter console features a horizontal wing-shaped orientation to address the\ndriver. The instrument cluster has been positioned towards the windscreen for\nexcellent visibility and minimum distraction. The centre-stack is fitted with a\nlarge, non-reflective8-inch display screen or the new generation navigation\nsystem, which is more than three times faster than the previous version fitted\nin Hyundai cars. It also has more route options with quickly updated map\nmaterial stored on an SD card and comes with a seven-year free subscription to\nTomTom LIVE services including TomTom traffic, Places, Speed Cameras and\nWeather. The driver saves time by identifying the fastest route using real-time\ntraffic information and receives alerts about fixed and mobile speed cameras\n(depending on country), as well as location-specific information on services\nand businesses, and weather reports. A new seamless DAB+radiowith6 audio\nspeakers is also available. Further connectivity is provided through USB and\nAUX connections in the centre stack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comprehensive active and passive safety\npackage  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The introduction of new technologies means the All-New\nTucson is one of the most comprehensively equipped vehicles in its segment when\nit comes to safety features.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include an Autonomous Emergency Braking system \u2013with\nthree operation modes: pedestrian, city and inter-urban\u2013 which triggers\nautomatic braking whenever it detects an unsafe closing speed with a person or\nvehicle in front, from low to high speeds. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, a Lane Keeping Assist System proactively\ncorrects the steering to avoid unintended lane departure, and the Rear-Cross\nTraffic Alert system uses radar to scan a 180-degree area behind the vehicle\nfor approaching cross-traffic. In addition, the Blind Spot Detection monitors\nthe area next to the car and behind and warns the drives if other vehicles are\napproaching, while the Speed Limit Information Function monitors local speed\nlimit signs and provides reminders. The Active Hood System raises the vehicle\u2019s\nhood to cushion the impact shock in a frontal collision with a pedestrian or\ncyclist.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wide ranging choice of efficient powerplants* <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The All-New Tucson will be available with one of the widest\npowertrain ranges in its class. These include two gasoline engines: 132 PS\n(1.6-litre GDI) or 175 PS (1.6-litre T-GDI) – plus three diesel options: 115 PS\n(1.7-litre), 136 PS (2.0-litre standard power) or 186 PS (2.0-litre high\npower).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new turbocharged 1.6-litre T-GDI gasoline engine with175\nPS delivers maximum torque of 265 NM from 1.500 to 4.500 rpm and is offered\nwith a six-speed manual or the seven-speed dual- clutch transmission (7DCT)\nwhich gives a choice of fully automatic operation or manual gear changes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018low\u2019 115 PS diesel engine delivers maximum torque of\n280 Nm from 1.250 to 2.500 rpm and is available exclusively with a six-speed\nmanual, 2WD and fuel-saving stop-start technology. The 2,0litre turbo-diesel\nwith a low inertia single-scroll turbocharger is offered in two versions- the\n\u2018standard power\u2019 136 PS delivering 373 Nm of maximum torque at 1.500 \u2013 2.500\nrpm. The \u2018high power\u2019186 PS version deliversan impressive maximum torque of 402\nNm from 1.750 to 2.750 rpm. Both feature maintenance-free lean NOx trap\ncatalyst technology to reduce emissions. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1.6-litre T-GDI gasoline and 2.0-litre diesel engine can\nbe mated with a 4WD-system, which delivers 100% of torque to the front wheels\nduring normal road driving and up to 40% to the rear wheels, automatically,\ndepending on conditions. A manually-selected \u2018Lock Mode\u2019 splits torque 50\/50% for\nenhanced stability at low speeds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All engines have been enhanced to offer improved\ndriveability and fuel efficiency, as well as meeting Euro6 emission standards.\nHyundai Motor\u2019s efficient Start-Stop system is available for selected engines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New chassis for Europe focused on ride comfort\nand driving dynamics <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The new chassis of the All-New Tucson has been developed for\nEuropean customers with a focus on ride comfort without compromising driving\ndynamics. The new rack-mounted motor-driven power steering is precise and\ndirect while the new suspension and dampers offer high levels of comfort and\ncompliance for a smooth ride. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyundai Motor has developed every element of the chassis to\nenhance high-speed and cornering stability, while also maximising the benefits\nof the long wheelbase (2670 mm) and wide track to optimise ride and handling\ncharacteristics for European roads and consumer needs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new electric motor-driven power steering (MDPS) system\nfeatures newly developed software and a rack-mounted electric motor giving a\nfast and direct response. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Drive Mode Select (DMS) function on automatic\ntransmission models offers customers a choice of two drive modes \u2013 Normal and\nSport\u2013with different characteristics for the steering, throttle, engine and\ngears. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
